TEACHING EXPERIENCE > TECHNOLOGY & TEACHING

When harnessed properly, technology can be a powerful tool in the classroom. Below are some of the ways technology was implemented in my classrooms to promote interactive learning.

Google Sites

Used to create and maintain a class website. Allows for quick posting of homework assignments or material such as handouts.

Google Forms

Part of Google Drive, Google Forms allows teachers to quickly create surveys to gauge proficiency levels or to find out interests to plan lessons around. Top level data is organized and easy to manipulate

Poll Everywhere

An free tool used to create online polls to review for exams. Students were able to answer questions using mobile phones and instant audience feedback provided a convenient way to prepare for exams.

QR Codes

QR codes promote interactive learning and are great for group activities involving the use of links that direct students to websites.

Tube Chop

TubeChop allows you to slice and dice any YouTube clip to isolate only the segment(s) you want. Can be used with QR codes to easily divide a single video into several parts for a group activity.

Prezi

A web-based presentation application that elevates bland Powerpoint presentations to an interactive story board with 3D graphics and appealing color schemes.
